The Holy Week in Campania
The most important rites of Holy Week in Campania take place in the Sorrento peninsula and the island of Procida, where at dawn on Good Friday the intense procession of the Dead Christ takes place, which is characterized by the presence of a substantial number of the Misteri: the groups of statues made of plaster and papier-mâché depicting the symbolic moments of the Life and Passion of Jesus. Of particular interest is the Procession of the Misteri of Sessa Aurunca.
